Michael's Story
Michael lived in a residential home and was getting more and more unhappy because he was being bullied by another resident.
He was upset and didn't know what to do but eventually he was brave enough to make a complaint to his care manager.
The residential home requested an advocate to listen to Michael's worries and to support him.
A meeting was held at the home to discuss Michael's problems and his advocate went with him to make sure that Michael was listened to and to help him explain the problem.
The advocate made sure that Michael understood what was being said and that the other people at the meeting didn't use complicated and difficult words.
The advocate also made sure that Michael's problem was taken seriously and that something was done to make things better.
