Jimmy's Story
Jimmy was unhappy, unable to cope living in his own flat and was not getting the correct benefits.
An advocate helped him go to the local Citizens Advice Bureau and supported him to get the correct benefits.
The advocate helped to make sure Jimmy got a support worker to help him keep his flat and to help him with things like cooking and cleaning.
The advocate also helped him in meetings with other professionals such as Care Managers, Psychiatrists and Community Nurses to represent his views and make sure that he got the assessments and help he needed.
In the end, Jimmy was a lot happier and he got the help he needed.
