Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)

Just Advocacy provides the statutory IMCA service in West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

In Surrey Just Advocacy provides the IMCA service in the boroughs of Guilford, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Waverley and Woking.

In North East Hampshire Just Advocacy provides the IMCA service in the boroughs of Hart and Rushmoor, as part of a consortium of advocacy organisations, HARG (Hampshire Advocacy Regional Group).

North East Hampshire
Referrals are made through the HARG IMCA co-ordinator by telephoning 01256 478999 (tel/fax), or by e-mailing or by visiting the HARG web site.

The Mental Capacity Act 2005 provides for an IMCA to be appointed for people who lack capacity to make a particular decision about serious medical treatment or about where they live and who do not have family or friends who are appropriate to consult.
